Internship dates: Summer (May - August) Application deadline April 2, 2010 

Intern Qualification: VAS is seeking highly-motivated, sports-minded candidates with a "have fun" attitude. Must have a positive attitude and enjoy working with people. Must have excellent written & oral communication skills and willing to do general office work and assist where needed. Must be willing to work long hours, as well as, some weekends. Must be avaliable the week of July 12th including evenings.

Internships Avaliable:

  • 2 Marketing Internships - Will work directly with the Marketing Director to promote the Coventry Games and work with sponsors. Intern will assist with projects such as: creating programs, flyers, slideshows, organizing sponsor banners, following up with local media, etc.
  • 1 Games Internship - Will work directly with the Games Director to organize all sports and work with sports coordinators for the Coventry Games. Intern will assist with projects such as: recruiting volunteers, registering/sanctioning sports, organizing/taking inventory of sports equipment, marketing individual sports, etc.
  • 5 Event Management Internships - Will work directly with Operations and Marketing Directors. Intern will assist with projects such as: developing email blasts, coordinating events & activities within the scope of the Coventry Games and Opening Ceremonies.

Majors: College or post-collegiate students majoring in sport management, sport marketing, sports information, business administration, marketing or related fields with an interest in sport management or event management are welcome to apply.

Virginia Amateur Sports will work with students to gain academic credit for the internship, unfortunately no compensation will be offered.
