Caddy use of carts:   Green tee and Yellow tee players only

All Caddies may rent a cart for use during play.  The caddy may use the cart to shuttle their player between holes.  After reaching the tee, the player cannot ride and must walk the entire hole.  The caddy may leave the bag on the cart or carry it on the course with the player when needed. In no case, will carts be allowed off the path.  First offense – warning.  Second offense – 2 stroke penalty.  Subsequent offenses – score of ten on that hole.

Note:  The cart policy has been put into effect to help those who play on a long course and have substantial walks between greens and tees.

Spectator Cart policy

Spectators may rent carts for use while watching play.  Spectators in carts must stay on the path at all times and remain behind the players being watched.  Please do not go forward to spot tee shots in advance of play.

 Rules & Regulations

Eligibility:  A player's age on July 1, 2008, will determine his/her age bracket.

Local Rule:  A player shall take no more than 10 strokes on a hole.  Once a 10 has been reached please, pick up your ball and wait for the other players in your group to complete the hole.

Ties and Alternates:  All ties for first place in the individual age group will be broken by a sudden death play-off immediately following the completion of play for the age group.  All other ties for second through fifth (those places receiving medals) will be broken by a scorecard playoff starting with the last hole and going backwards on the card.

Tournament Rules:  Play is governed by the United States Golf Association (USGA) Rules of Golf & Decisions where applicable as amended by Local Rules that are administered by the Tournament Director.

Parental Responsibility:  A parent or guardian must be present for registration and at all times during the competition.  All parents, family members, or friends who are not caddying must follow the guidelines of the Spectator Policy.

Spectator Policy:  All spectators must remain on the cart path or the rough at all times.  Spectators may NOT give the player advice during the round.  Spectators may NOT use any electronic devices (cell phones, pagers, etc.) on the course.   First offense:  warning; second offense:  immediate removal of the spectator from the golf course.

Use of Electronic Devices by Players and Caddy:  Cell phones, headphones, and pagers may not be used during play.  First offense:  two-stroke penalty; second offense:  disqualification.

Dress Code:  Participants must adhere to the following dress code:  Only acceptable golf attire is permitted.  Players are prohibited from wearing shoes with metal spikes, short shorts, swimwear, denim of any kind, t-shirts, or tank tops.

Inclement Weather:  The tournament committee makes all decisions regarding weather delays and/or cancellations on site the day of the event.  Our intention is to play the event on its scheduled day, and we will do everything possible, including reducing the number of holes of the stipulated round, to determine the individual champions.  If a delay occurs, it is the player's responsibility to be ready when play resumes.  All players failing to start play on time after a delay will be assessed a score of ten on that and any subsequent holes on which their group has already begun play.  You may not join your group during play of a hole, you must join them on the next tee.

Code of Conduct:  Violations of the code of conduct include:  abusive language, club throwing, cheating, disrespect of volunteers or officials, abuse to the golf course or the facility, littering, or any other conduct unbecoming of a tournament participant or caddy.   First offense:  two-stroke penalty; second offense:  disqualification.  Repeated violations may lead to rejection of future entries.

Disqualification Policy:  No player will be disqualified for any rules violations of the Rules of Golf.  Instead, the player will be assessed a maximum score of ten on any hole where the penalty would normally bring disqualification.  In situations where the round or hole has been completed, the score of ten will apply to the last hole played or to the hole where the infraction occurred.  Should a player miss his tee time, he will be assessed a maximum score of ten on the first hole and each additional hole not played with his assigned group.  Exceptions:  a player or his caddy may be disqualified for code of conduct violations or unauthorized use of electronic devices.

Starting Time:  Please check your starting hole assignment and arrive at your tee box at least five minutes early.

Pace of Play:  It is the caddy's duty to help the players hit each shot within a reasonable period of time.

Caddy Policy

Similar to the PGA Tour, will have a caddy to help them play their best.  Players must have a caddy at all times.  We suggest players select their parent, grandparent, other family members, or friend at least twelve years of age as their caddy, so that both can experience the joy of competition.

A caddy is one who carries or handles a player's clubs during play and otherwise assists him in accordance with the rules.  A player may have only one caddy at any given time.  A caddy may be replaced or eliminated at any time by the player.  No other person may offer advice to a player other than his caddy.  Spectators are not allowed to offer advice to a player at any time during play.

Please refrain from over-coaching the participant for whom you are caddying.  It is the caddy's duty to help the player hit each shot within a reasonable period of time to help prevent slow play.

1.       A player shall not allow his caddy to position himself on or close to an extension of the line of play or the line of putt behind the ball.  A caddy may position himself in this manner before the player commits to beginning his swing but must move away once the player is set to begin his swing.  Failure to do so will result in a two-stroke penalty.

2.       When a player's ball is on the putting green, the player or his caddy may before, but not during, the stroke, point out a line for putting, but in doing so the putting green shall not be touched.  No mark shall be placed anywhere to indicate a line for putting.  Violation of this rule will result in a two-stroke penalty.

3.       The player's ball shall not strike the flagstick or attendant when the flagstick is attended or the flagstick is in the hole, unattended, or when the ball has been played from the putting green.  Should this occur, the player is assessed a two-stroke penalty, and the ball is played as it lies.

Always remember that a rules violation by the caddy is the same as if the player violated the rule.  A caddy must be aware of the rules and assist his player in accordance with the rules.   Rules officials are in place to help players when needed.
