Sixteen years of slices, hooks, short and long putts, stories, good and bad weather and lots of fun. That is what is in store for you this year as we celebrate our annual golf tournament on Friday, September 28 at Hanging Rock Golf Course. In 2008, we renamed the tournament to the Dr. Wally Golf Tournament in honor of one of our inaugural board members, Dr. Wallace Johnston, a professor at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Johnston was instrumental in developing and expanding Virginia Amateur Sports from a once a year, Commonwealth Games of Virginia into a year round program, that included the Games and 8-10 other events on a year basis. into a year round sports organization that inspired our new tag line Inspiring Wellness and Competition.
