2012 Baton Information Details
General information:
- Twirlers from ALL organizations are welcome to participate in any Twirling Unlimited event. There is no membership fee or special requirement. Gymnastics moves are allowed; and time limits are broad enough to cover all organizations.
- Twirlers from all states and any twirling organization are welcome to participate in the open events of the Blue Ridge TwirlFest.
- Twirlers from any state except ME, PA, NE, MA and AZ are welcome to participate in the Subway Commonwealth Games of Virginia (these states have baton twirling in their own State Games.)
- If there is a conflict in scheduling, the contestant should report to both judges.
- No flash photography is allowed, and any video taping must be of your child only!
- Building owners, contest officials and contest sponsors are not responsible for losses, accidents or injuries.
- NO SMOKING allowed anywhere on school grounds.
- There is no admission fee charged at the door. However, we ask that each family pay a facility fee of $10 (added to entry form) to help defray costs.
- Concessions will be available for purchase all day. With the exception of judges and contest officials, no one will be permitted to bring food or drink into the gym.

Beginner Basic March - Age divisions: 0-6, 7-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15+ (March in a square)

Note: TU rules limit the number of toss turns and rolls which may be executed by twirlers in the developmental levels of solo twirl. Check TU rules for specifics and for classificiation definitions.

Open Awards:
A system of flexible awards will be used. For divisions with 3 contestants or less: 1st place trophy, 2nd & 3rd place medals. 4 - 7 contestants: 1st & 2nd trophies, 3rd place meals. 8 - 10 contestants: 3 trophies. 11 - 14 contestants: 1-3 trophies, 4th & 5ths medals. 15 - 20 contestants: 1- 5 trophies.
Pageant Awards:
1 - 3 Medal Model, Strut, Twirl, 1-3 Trophy Overall, Banner & flowers for winners.
Subway Commonwealth Games Awards:
Teams - Gold, silver & bronze neck medallions for each 1st - 3rd place team member
All individual events, all levels - Gold, silver & bronze neck medallions
